    Beginner PC build

I have dug out my very (very) old custom PC build back from probably 2018/2019. Current specs are:

    Processor:
Intel core I3-6100 3.7GHz Dual core (socket 1151)

    Motherboard:
ASUS H110M-PLUS Intel socket 1151 motherboard

    Graphics card:
ASUS Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB

The remaining bits are in the attached photo.

I want to be able to play all the big games such as Starfield and Baldurs Gate 3 and simply move away from console gaming.

No budget set so reasonable responses please.

    Hello

So are you a serious gamer? If so there is one item you can’t skimp on and that is the psu , you need to have a psu gold standard with at least a 5 to 10 year warranty.. I will tag a member for more gaming system info..

      Starfield PC Specs
You don’t meet the minimum specs for Starfield. You always want to be at or above the recommended for an optimal experience.

      Balders Gate 3 PC specs

There is no real upgrade path. It would be better to purchase a new PC, with new components that meet or exceed the recommended specs.

Otherwise, you will be spending more time on forums trying to get things better that just won’t happen.

I’m with the others, a reasonable new build would be wiser than pouring money into something that’s just going to show it’s weak spots in another year or two.

I usually pair i3s with 8GB of ram on the lower end and an SSD at least- but that’s up to you if you want to spend money on it.
