Yeah Peter I agree, but it was still kind of broken. Undervolting seems to be the way to go but I have that undervolting profile set up in MSi Afterburner and I don’t have it set to be applied at startup just incase it’s unstable. So sometimes I forget to apply it and end up using the GPU overclocked instead of undervolted. I actually made that mistake yesterday and it turns out replacing those thermal pads was a REALLY good idea. My thermals went from GPU temp of 65C to 57C, Hotspot temp of 90C to 72C and amazingly a Memory Junction temp of 110C to 70C. I tested it by running FurMark for an hour to test the stability of the newly fixed GPU and to test how well the new thermal pads work.

yes it definately was. I won’t lie though I was very nervous. i didn’t have much faith when i saw the guy who was claiming he could fix it. His office was a mess, he was barefoot, he was blasting Judas Priest and his garbage can next to his desk was overflowing with beer cans. The only thing that stopped me from doing an about face was all the equiptment he had on 3 work benches. I was a little annoyed though that the job took almost 3hrs when it should have been only a half hour at the most. It took so long becuase he kept wanting to talk about music and how evil the Chinese are. I’m not kidding. Bottomline I guess is not to judge a book by it’s cover, but i can unequivocally say that if I ever need something repaired and i use him, i will just leave it with him and pick it up the next day or whenever.Originally posted by BruceComment

Yeah I ran furmark yesterday for an hour played gtav at 4k 60fps at ultra settings for about 2 1/2 hrs and I’ve been upscaling videos all day today. So far so good and temps look great.Comment
