Hey all,

To start this section off, I’ll go ahead and post a photo of my newest build (Note that I’m coming from a 4th gen i7 LOL). The only modification I did to the case is remove the fans that came with it (2x) and replaced them with Antec fans (3x) since the front is mesh.

Loving it so far. Running the latest beta driver and absolutely no stutters, over 60fps on every game so far.

I just finished my first ever build a month ago and am super happy with how it has come out. I wanted to go for the whole rainbow lighting effect thing because I had never owned a PC like that before. Case is a Kolink Void with a front infinity mirror design. Just finished the build off by adding an Asus ROG Herculx graphics card stand to take some strain off the GPU from the radiator hoses resting against it which I also think fills in the bottom area of the case nicely with some more lighting effects. I also replaced the stock Phanteks PCI-e cable with a custom braided one from modDIY which looks a lot neater and also matches the braided look of the radiator cables.

thought I’d get in on some of this action…
I did this one about 5 years ago now, wanted something ‘artie’ to hang on the wall, so I got out some plywood and cobbled this together.
particularly enjoyed the electronics side of it - getting the temp gauges and 12v and 5v rail voltmeter working.

That’s very clever. I had never thought that you could build a PC outside of a case but it looks really good. Like a piece of functional wall art. Nice neat cable management too.

yeah - I went through a phase of making wooden ‘cases’ for PC’s, I’ll have to get some shots of those for here as well.
not only because I’m into wood, but also as a theory on airflow, and how you could live without going down that rabbit hole.
of course, low PSU and no GPU helps with that, a lot!

here’s my first builds using wood.
they were meant to be my test benches for playing around with clients PC’s, swapping out parts, seeing what was faulty.
(these were the initial inspiration; Best PC Test Bench Case for Hardware Testing & Benchmarking in 2025 )

I liked the look so much, I made more and gave them to the kids as their PC’s during their school years.
