PC does not give any video output after restarting my pc

    Hello,

yesterday I finished building my new PC with a new motherboard (MSI X570s Carbon Max Wifi), two new additional RAM Sticks Corsair Vengenance 16GB 3600 CL 18, and some new fans. The other parts of my old computer moved into the new one (RTX 3080 TI and a ryzen 9 5900x. When I finished building my PC I initially also had trouble to see a video output but I then switched my graphics card bios from ‘gaming’ to ‘silent’ and then video output over HDMI worked. I installed a new windows11 version and went on with customizing my system (rgb software and other stuff, also did a bios update and enabled xmp). I then wanted to restart my system because I had previously installed MSI Dragon Center but then deleted it once I realized that it messed with my rgb on my RAM Sticks. So after restarting my system I somehow got no video output. The debug LED show nothing and everything works as expected (all fans are spinning, all RGB Leds are on). The only thing not working is my video output.
Since then I started unplugging all cables on my power supply and plugging it back in. I tried removing the RAM Sticks and see if on RAM stick works. By doing that I got the error code 02 on my motherboard which according to msi means ‘AP initialization before microcode loading’. I then tried every RAM stick a time but the error stayed. But once I install all 4 RAM sticks the error is gone. (pretty weird?)

So right now I am out of options. I dont have another graphics card that I could test nor do I have another motherboard since I already sold my old one.
Could my graphics card be damaged? Or somehow my power supply? But then again everything that needs power works.
I also think I am able to boot into windows. I dont get video output but once I start typing my password with my keyboard and hit ‘enter’ a led on my keyboard is on that is only on when I am in windows?

Does someone have an idea on what I could do here?

Try a different video cable, screen and alternative video port on the GPU.

What is the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

The RAM is not appropriate for your CPU, AMD state here up to 3200MHz and if you have XMP enabled the RAM will get auto OCd past what the CPU can handle and the PC fall over.[/color]

I tried a different Video cable. Both with HDMI and DP and also tried all GPU ports.
PSU is the Corsair 850W HX850.

Never realized theRAM was not supported… Still on my old system I had 2 RAM sticks and everything seemed working just fine. Now when I try 1 or 2 RAM sticks the PC is stuck at AP initialization before microcode loader (cant remember exactly) but when I plug in all 4 RAM everything boots normally just with no video Output. I can now also confirm that I actually get into windows because I managed to shut down my PC via blindly entering the CMD order for it.

I am starting to think my GPU is damaged…

you had it working, installed some stuff, then it didn’t work.
if you could get into Windows, I’d be reverting that latest stuff you installed, but there in lies your issue!

I’d be taking the whole thing apart, reassembling on a piece of cardboard and troubleshooting from that point.
first aim - get either back into Windows or at least into BIOS.
and only reassemble the core components - no external peripherals, only one RAM stick, no DVD unit, only the boot drive - in other words, keep it simple!

Yeah, i might need to take everything apart… Tomorrow I can try out the GPU of a friend so I can rule out a broken GPU on my end… I will reply back once I tested that

So I can now confirm that the system itself is working fine. The GPU from my friend worked and I got video Output. Tomorrow I can test my graphics card on his system just to see if my GPU and motherboard combined cause some issues…
If the GPU works on my friends PC then I think the BIOS update I did messed Something Up.

Nope because if the BIOS was messed up the MB is toast and you would not have got video from your friends card.

So my friend testet my graphics card on his system and it works. His GPU also works in my system. Really strange… I wonder what causes this behaviour of just not giving video output. Does anyone have an idea as to what might cause this issue?

since it was working before you installed that extra stuff - that extra stuff would be the first thing to remove.
get it back to a state that you know the GPU was working in.

try rebooting into Safe Mode and seeing if the card works.
or even try creating another user account and log into the PC using that profile.
