Hello! I recently finished building my first PC but I have noticed something weird. I don’t know if I did something wrong or what but I feel very tingly whenever I handle the mouse and keyboard. The hair on my arms stands up and i feel itchy. I’ve used this mouse and keyboard on my last pc without trouble which was plugged to the same outlet. The PC runs fine, i just don’t understand if this is possible or if I’m conditioning myself in some way. Thanks for reading!
Static Electricity?

Hello
Are the weather conditions dry there? That would do it and static electricity comes from a lot of sources. Don’t think it is coming from your pc, if so it probably would just shut down from being grounded, ( mother board wise anyway) . Sometimes you can get static from new plastic devices .. -
The conditions are dry and very cold, the mouse and keyboard are both old but I’m worried it could be something permanent like a faulty part or the grounding in the house being faulty. Then again, I’ve never made a pc before and I’m not knowledgeable about it. I’m unsure how to fix it, whether I should leave it running or disconnect it entirely.Comment

The pc is probably good to stay on.. Your weather conditions are causing the static on plastic surfaces. I will give you a heads up for in the future .. If you have this much static and at anytime during the year.. If you have to go inside your pc case make sure you have grounded yourself. The easy way is to touch some metal usually the outside of the pc case is good..Comment

So you’re saying it’s very likely i simply didn’t ground myself? It’s certainly a relief to hear it’s not serious or permanentComment
