Black screen after installing GPU driver

Hey guys,
my PC was working without a problem a few days ago. Suddenly, when I restarted it, after windows loading, I got a black screen. I went to safe mode, uninstalled Nvidia driver and I could boot it in normal mode again, but only until I installed GPU driver again. I tried everything, the hardware is fine, I tried removing all old GPU drivers, updating windows stuff, installing other drivers, changing bios settings, formatting my SSD and reinstalling to windows 10, which worked until I installed the GPU driver again. I even tried installing windows 11 and I didn’t even finish the installation and got the same black screen. Any ideas guys? Thanks!

Can you post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, GPU, MB, PSU and RAM.

After clean installing Windows did you install the MBs system drivers and starting with the chipset drivers first.

I can’t even boot Windows right now. I just installed Win 11 and it says this:

Your PC needs to be repaired

Remove the add on GPU from the MB altogether then hook your screen up to the appropriate video port on the MB.

Reinstall Windows 10.

Install the MBs chipset drivers, then the SATA/storage drivers, re start the PC and see how you get on.

Do not let Windows update until after the above has been done or you will 100% get problems.

No rush on my behalf as replying on my cell phone and need my box of tricks that are on the home PCs.

I installed MB, audio and SATA drivers, restarted and everything works so far, should I install the Nvidia driver now?

Sorry but who said to install any audio drivers ?

Hold off doing anything other than installing Windows & Windows Defender updates for now then use the PC for general use for a couple of hours until I get home.

Now I wasn’t doing anything, just had PC turned off and screen went black again out of nowhere. When this happens, the GPU fans stop spinning.

You were asked to remove the GPU from the PC so why is it even in there.

I am sorry, I didn’t understand that part, I am gonna do it now.

I detached the GPU, connected monitor to DVI from motherboard, turned on PC and no signal is going through, as if I didn’t have an internal GPU.

Did you remove the GPU from the MB altogether as was asked in my reply #4, you will not get video from the MB if you don’t which is the very reason why you were asked to remove the GPU from the MB.

Yes, the GPU is removed and the only DVI port I can put my monitor in is the MB one, but there’s nothing on the screen.

There is something wrong then because your i7-8700K processor has Intel UHD Graphics 630 and your MB supports DVI-D with max. resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz.

The only two things that prevent the MBs video ports from working is the BIOS detecting an add on GPU or the integrated video being disabled in the BIOS, you have removed the GPU so have you ever disabled the integrated video in the BIOS.

Other than the above explanations the one other possibility is that the CPU is incorrect so you may want to check it, not all CPUs have integrated video.
