I’m doing a custom build, and would like recommendations for legacy parts best suited for this OS. I have decided to go with an i7-4790k CPU, and considering these motherboards:
MSI Z97 Gaming 5
MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming
MSI Z97-GD65 Gaming
MSI Z97 GuardPro
MSI Z87-G55
MSI Z97A Gaming 6
Asus Maximus VII Hero
Asus Z97-Pro
If you have a ‘pick of the litter’, or wish to suggest another motherboard, feel free. I am doing this build to leave behind the XP Pro PC I have used for over three years. I’m not happy about this, but the lack of useful browsers for XP leaves no choice. I don’t like Win 7, but I dislike it a whole lot less than I detest Win8/Win10…neither will be considered. Win 7 is the last M$ rendition I will be using before I transition to MX Linux. If you wish to help with this build, your assistance will be appreciated. Debate addicts are not welcome here.
