Buying an old laptop, Help

Hi Folks, hope all is well with you out there in these weird times.

This is my first post so I hope I have put it in the right section, if not apoligise before hand,

Its quite simple !

The problem. I was a fan of such games as Civalization 3, sim city 2000 etc I do not want to play them on my PC I own now nor do I want to buy a tower or desktop system soley for them.
I would like advice on buying an old laptop which would run these games but have not got a clue what spec or type to buy 2nd hand. It needs to run these smoothly and specked accordingley.

Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated bearing in mind I’m far from a techy ! I have all the cd’s for installation,

and for sim city 3

I would think that the laptop that has the spec’s for sim city should run both..
