Gaming PC crashes even on BIOS

I have rules out all forms of potential software errors. It all started when my PC hard locked up one day about 2 weeks ago. In a struggle to find what was the cause i took all cables out and plugged them back in which appeared to have somewhat fixed it. But the a few days ago it happened again and i could seem to find the issue this time. I believe it could be a power supply fault but 12v and 5v are reading correct respectively and I also do not think its a temperature issue. However a couple of things to note:
I recently changed pc case to a Cooler Master TD500 and added a MasterLiquid ML360R liquid cooler. It was shortly after installing these that issues started to occur.
The screen will display whatever was last on screen the audio will buzz for a split second and then my fans will still be running indefinatly till i turn the PC off. Tried reinstalling windows completely wiping hard drive its not a software issue.

    My overall specs are:
    Intel i7-7700k @ 4.2ghz
    Evga GTX 1080FTW
    Corsair Vengence 16gb DDR4
    Samsung 970 evo M.2 250gb
    2tb Toshiba HDD
    3 additional cooler master fans.
    750w Corsair CS750M

    Hello

This may go back to the psu.. Do you have a psu that you can swap out to check that theory?

I thought it could be PSU related but unfortunately the only other psu i have is non module and doesn’t support 2 pcie 8pin connectors would this be the first thing to point towards?

Another thing to help is that when it freezes and i turn it off via holding the power button when i turn it on, the PC will come on for a split second then go straight off and come back on in an infinite loop until i turn the PC off by the wall

One thing i have experienced before was that audio buzz,to a psu.. I would suggest you do a good look over of your mobo for any signs of failure..

Ah.. was posting while you were posting.. Another possible check, would be the power button..

The PC also doesn’t register any input from devices. For example the caps lock indicator on my keyboard doesn’t register I’m pressing caps lock.

That is a budget Gold efficiency rated PSU from back in 2013, only had a three year warranty and should not be used anywhere near a high end build such as yours.

Remove the add on video card from the PC altogether, swap out the PSUs, hook the screen up to the appropriates video port on the MB, reassemble, test then post back with an update.

Thanks for the reply. I thought this to be the case but have used this PSU for 4-5 years or so paired with the i7 and 1080 with no issues up until this point but I’ll lean towards this as it seems to be a common suggestion thank you.

One more question. What wattage PSU would you recommend is 750 too overkill. Could i get away with a 600 or 650 for example. Thanks.

As per the warranty period of 3 years, if it said lifetime warranty and this happened you would be right to have such an opinion, the fact that you are at least a minimum of two years outside of any warranty period discounts that opinion really I’m afraid.

                      Did you see the following from my reply #8;

Remove the add on video card from the PC altogether, swap out the PSUs, hook the screen up to the appropriates video port on the MB, reassemble, test then post back with an update

Which power supply do you need?

                        +1
I’d also recommend going as far back to basics as possible to eliminate hardware.
Remove GPU( to test that theory and allow going back to other PSU), only try 1 stick of RAM at a time, remove power button cable from mobo header and just short out those 2 pins to replicate same function, and even go back to the original CPU fan and heatsink.

                          Just a quick update.
Its too early for me to say just yet but 2 days ago I pulled my RAM sticks out and simply put them back in and now my PC has been working for 2 days constantly running. This could have been due to my RAM being seated wrong. However it hasn’t been long enough for me to say 100% that this is fixed so will update here shortly if any problems do/do not arise.
