I just picked up a new gaming PC through a rent-to -own place, and it’s a big upgrade compared to my last pc which was about 8 years old and a desktop I bought at staples and just tossed an Nvidia 1050 card into and made it last til recently when the hard drive died.
This new pc should run just about anything I would think, as it has over double the power of my last. Also getting used to a 29 inch extra wide monitor is going to take some adjustment. However, even after updating everything and setting everything as well I could figure as being good, i have to say every game I have tried, which all worked well on my old pc btw, all suffer from terrible FPS, laggy interface and so on. I’ll post the specs I know here so you guys who know what you’re doing can assess it, I just don’t know how to fix it. I tried to play CoD Warzone since it exceeds the requirements on that and even turned all the graphics settings as low as I could and the in game test bar shows that it should only be using about half of the max settings, I can’t get over 15 FPS and it is killing me. Please help, inform, berate or otherwise respond, I’ll take any help I can get.
I’m running Windows 10, which is new as I’ve used Win 7 for the last decade lol. Processor: AMD RYZEN 5 PRO 2600 6-core
RAM: 16gb
64 Bit OS Windows 10 Home (OS build: 19042.746)?
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

I hope to hear from some of you and get back to gaming comfortably soon. Also I switched the 29inch extra wide monitor back to my 24 inch for the time being, figuring it would be less pull on the pc. So called reviews say this setup has less than 8% bottleneck so I don’t know how to fix these issues. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the links. I tested it on Call of Duty Warzone, since that’s the highest graphic intensive game I want to play, and it passed everything except memory for minimum requirements. I already have it installed and have 111 GB of space open, thought it recommends 175 GB. I wasn’t aware that memory had anything to do with running the game apart from storing the files for it. I still don’t understand how I can meet all the requirements and set all settings to low and still get choppy or unplayable graphics.
As for the bottleneck tests, it averaged 3.7% so I guess that’s not terrible. Nevertheless, Ill keep adjusting settings wherever I can and hopefully get at least one of my games to play well eventually. I’ll try to keep this updated after I move it to the right forum, and again thanks for the assistance, Veeg

Ok, so…funny story: I rushed too much setting up the pc out of the box, that I overlooked inspecting the tower itself. So now that I have removed the packing cushion and stuff from the inside of the case, I have a feeling that excess heat I detected may have to be part of my issue.

We need the psu model number.. I would say the packing was 95% of the issue.. Also does your ram give you access to increase the speed?

Oh ok, right. Yeah if it wasn’t apparent already, I am kind of ignorant when it comes to specifics, but I can find them well enough. The model number of the PSU is sp-700ah2nkw and i have no idea how to see if i can increase speed, but I am looking.
