Hi Everyone,
2nd time PC builder, but really 1st time as last I purchased everything that was used in the tutorial build and just copied it step by step (6+ years ago). I have run through a lot of troubleshooting from the other thread with no luck still. Please Please Please help. Below I have the system configuration, troubleshooting steps so far, and what the issue is that I am seeing in the additional info section.
I really appreciate any help.[/IMG]
2nd time PC builder, but really 1st time as last I purchased everything that was used in the tutorial build and just copied it step by step (6+ years ago). I have run through a lot of troubleshooting from the other thread with no luck still. Please Please Please help. Below I have the system configuration, troubleshooting steps so far, and what the issue is that I am seeing in the additional info section.
- System configuration
- Intel Core i7-10700K 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor
-(waiting for new intel announcement) - Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
- Asus ROG MAXIMUS XII HERO (WI-FI) ATX LGA1200 Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
- Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
- Samsung 860 Evo 1 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive
- EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB SC ULTRA GAMING Video Card
-In the upgrade program for a 3080 https://linustechtips.com/uploads/emoticons/smile.png
- Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case
- Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
- Troubleshooting steps you already did
- Check if your power cable is firmly plugged in on both ends (you would be surprised how many issues this resolves)
- Checked
- Check if the power supply (PSU) has a button to cut the power to the machine. Check if this button is in the position denoted with ON or I
- Checked
- Check if EVERY power cable is plugged in securely, reseat if necessary.
- Checked
- Check if the power button is installed correctly (consult your motherboard manual)
- On the system panel header I have the HDLED, RESET, and PWRBTN all going positive on the left pin and negative on right pin (the manual doesn’t illustrate and I couldn’t find anything on this).
- Try shorting out the pins you connect the power button to manually. If this powers on your system, you have a faulty power button.
- I am not sure what it means to short the pins or how to do this properly (Is there a good youtube video that illustrates this)?
- Check with a device of which you know that it works if the power outlet you’re using is actually providing power.
- Checked
- Any additional information that may be relevant.
- When I first powered on (plugged in power supply to outlet and flipped the power supply’s switch to on) the motherboard lit up. The power button did not work here. I pressed the start button on the mother board and was able to boot up to the Bios. All fans were working, except the RGB lighting on my phantek case fans as well as the power button. I tried running through several of the troubleshooting methods and things seem to have gotten worse (the fans are no longer powering on and I cannot get to the Bios). The mother RBG on the motherboard will light up, but that is it.
I really appreciate any help.[/IMG]
