CPU temp =35 degrees using basic stuff no games - MOBO temp 27 degrees game boost is off

The problem is after a few mins the fortnite screen goes black and cannot be viewed.

        Typical behaviour of something overheating.

        How old is the PSU.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

          Hi
          Thanks for your reply
          A bit of history
I have been running one pc perfectly fine for 3 -4 years as follows
          Operating System
          Windows 10 Home 64-bit
          CPU
          Intel Core i7 @ 3.50GHz 63 °C
          Kaby Lake-U/Y 14nm Technology
          RAM
          16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1064MHz (15-15-15-35)
          Motherboard
          Intel Corporation NUC7i7BNB (U3E1)
          Graphics
          Q3279WG5B (2560x1440@59Hz)
Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 (Intel)
          Storage
          465GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 500GB (SATA (SSD)) 51 °C
          Optical Drives
          No optical disk drives detected
          Audio
          Realtek High Definition Audio

About 2 mths ago I built my own pc to run mainly games and changed the monitor to AOC Q3279WG5B 32" model from which both pcs are running via cable swap over and sometimes a switch which made life easier. All was fine running new Pc until I installed Fortnite and after some work got it working Ok by reducing Display Resolution to. 1920/1080 at 60Hz - tried 75Hz
New Pc spec is as follows

          Ryzen 3-3100g 3.6 speed
Radeon RX 550 4GB Powercolor AMD Radeon RX 550 4GB RED DRAGON Graphics Card, AXRX 550 4GBD5-DH
          Corsair CMK16GX4M2A2666C16W Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 2666 MHz C16 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Kit
MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard

PSU is about 2 years old bought as new for another build but never used until this build.
PC has 2 fans running - do I need more?

Black screen appears periodically on both pcs for a few seconds
Which bit is likely to be at fault do think?

          Thanks again for your help
          Andy

This arrangement could be the cause of your problems and would have been best mentioned in your OP, being that we have no idea of what you mean by “via cable swap” or “sometimes a switch” it is difficult for us to safely advise you I`m afraid.

Using any type of set up other than a direct feed will always cause problems but if you do need to go this route a proper KVM switch should be used.

            Couple of questions;

What happens if you completely disconnect computer A from the set up and then run Fortnite on the new build (computer B).

Are you aware that the screen you have only supports Resolution:2560×1440 and Refresh rate:75Hz which is what the DVI port on your GPU supports, the HDMI and Display Port both support up to 4096x2160 so you will get a performance drop using either of these with your screen.

The PSU being a good brand and only two years old just about covers you with your GPU but you really should have something Gold efficiency rated for the long term and preferably with more wattage available.

              Hi
              Thanks for your help
Just to clarify the switch is a
[HEADING=2]3 Hdmi Port Switch Switcher Splitter Selector HUB Box Cable HDTV 1080P PS4 Xbox[/HEADING]
I have tried connecting Intel PC via HDMI cable to the new monitor mentioned above
I have also tried connecting AMD PC via its own separate HDMI cable to the new monitor mentioned above
Thats what I mean by cable swap.
I also bought above type of splitter, connected 1 end to monitor hdmi slot and other 2 connections to the 2 PC HDMI cables.
Perhaps I should have tried KVM switch.
I knew that my new monitor supported 2560x1440 refresh 75Hz but using this option with Fortnite running on newbuild pc gave black screen although sound was ok. After changing to 1920/1080 at 60Hz it seems to run ok. However the original PC screen goes black for a few seconds randomly
If I change switch to KVM what cables should I use HDMI to DVI or HDMI to HDMI and what monitor settings and resolution should should I use

              Thanks for your help
              Andy

                Hi
One other thing is it ok to leave Processor Power Management at Balanced 5%(min) 75%(max) or does this have no bearing on my issue
                Thank You again

The one and only test that you need to do is to have nothing but the new gaming computer connected to the monitor using either the HDMI or the Display Port, if you still have problems with Fortnite you have narrowed it down to Fortnite itself while ruling out any hardware issue in the process.

Put any KVM switches or other cables on hold for now if you will.

                  You are welcome btw

                        Hi
I have run Fortnite for about 1/2 hour until screen flickered black for 2-3 seconds twice. I also tried to run another game - Rocket League which loaded but kept showing a black screen for a few times and was unusable. You tube seems to run ok.
I ran the s/ware with just the HDMI cable attached from PC to monitor - no switches or other cables or other pc was involved.
                        Is this info helpful
                        regards andy

Using the above set up run the two test below to see if the same issue still happens, if it does, the only test left is to try another video port and cable, the display port/cable being the best alternative.
