Might anyone be able to tell me why on some Intel packaging box’s for the i5 8600k for sale shows the word UNLOCKED while others don’t show same?
I have been seeing the box’s that show the word UNLOCKED are generally more expensive.
Are they still the same CPU?
Thank You

UNLOCKED means that you can overclock the CPU much higher and faster than locked CPUs. They are the exact same CPU and socket, just UNLOCKED CPU’s have a K on the end for Intel and X on the end for AMD.
