    Overclocking advice - Intel i5

    Hi everyone,

Its been a long time since I overclocked anything so my knowledge is a bit rusty. I have always been tempted to use the apps and features that come with the motherboard but I never did as I know its always best to manually do this yourself in the bios.
I am looking to overclock my cpu to 5.2ghz.

    My system spec:
Intel i5 7600k (running at stock speed 4.2ghz) - I have the Noctua NH-D15 cooler with 2 Noctua fans already attached running in auto mode
    MSI M5 Gaming Z270 motherboard
    Samsung Evo Plus 1TB Nvme
    Crucial 32GB DDR4 3200mhz ram
    Nvidia GTX 1050Ti
    EVGA 750W Gold powersupply
R5 Fractal Define PC Case with 4 Case fans connected.

    I am using Windows 10 x64 Professional.

I have been looking online and seeing for most people its just changing the multiplier and increasing the voltage.
I would like to know what voltage I should use and any other recommended settings please?

    Thanks

    Hello Dan_,

You may be better to seek advice on a dedicated OCers forum as we tend to only try and help folk fix things when something has gone wrong.

    Example forum here

okay sure, no problem. I only posted here because I have done a similar post in the past(long time back) and got some great help on here.

Can`t recall ever seeing an OC related thread in my four years here tbh, Evan is about the only member of staff that I can think of that may have OC experience.

lol it was way before 4 years so thats why your not seeing it. I wonder if my posts still exist haha
Its cool mate I was just explaining why I posted this here. I have now posted it elsewhere on a more suitable forum so hopefully I will get the answers that I need.

          Cheers

You probably posted on the PCHF.com site.

See if this help to explain it.

                Hi,

I would start with this guide here, How to overclock your CPU and GPU safely.

Then if you have any future questions, then let us know. You’ll need to increase the multiplier of the CPU little by little and ensure the CPU is stable and only increase the voltage when needed.

                    Thank you!

I tried another forum but boy were they so unhelpful considering it was a forum that belongs to the motherboard that I have, which is a popular name.

Thanks again guys, appreciate it Have a great weekend!
