    Windows Compatibility with Build

I’m about to build a new PC (old one died and was due for an upgrade anyway) with the following components:

    AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor W/ Wraith Stealth

Asus PRIME B450-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard

SeaSonic FOCUS Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

    Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Also bringing in 2 components from my old computer:

MSI GeForce GTX 970 4 GB Video Card

Seagate 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive

The thing is apparently the Ryzen 5 isn’t compatible with windows 7 which is what is currently installed on my HDD.

How do i go about getting windows 10 onto my HDD that i cant access currently due to not having a working PC?

Can i set the computer up with the current HDD and make sure everything works and then install a new operating system?

    What are my options?

Couple of problems that you may encounter with this are having incompatible drivers for the MB on the HDD, the USB ports may not function and last but not least the Windows 7 product key that is on the HDD may get rejected by Microsoft when the new MB is detected, unless you purchased a licence key for the full retail version of Windows 7 you may need to purchase a Windows 10 licence key first, I would however give things a try as you have nothing to lose, you can`t break anything.

Let us know if you have all parts and are ready to assemble them and we will get back to you with what you should try.
