I'm Having Problens With My SSD

    Specifications:
    • Intel i7 9700k
    • Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super
    • 1tb HDD
    • 500gb SSD (Samsung evo 860)
    • 16gb Ram (2x8)

My problem is that I got an ssd, but I am unable to transfer my boot drive from my hdd to my ssd. I have tried to use many different migration software’s, including the official Samsung migration software, but whenever I try to use that, it says my ssd is not connected, when it is.
Any help is very much appreciated.

    Hi,

Try using a different SATA cable and/or power cable for the SSD. Does the SSD show up in the motherboards BIOS?

Try removing all partitions in Disk Management for the SSD and then see if the Samsung Data Migration software recognizes the SSD.

I’ve just tried it, unfortunately it’s still not showing up, however there is a usb symbol next to where it says “please connect a Samsung SSD”, do u think maybe I need to connect it using a usb to sata?
Sorry, just realised I never pressed ‘post’

Yeah you can try that as well. You may have a faulty SATA port or a bad SATA cable.
