    Computer not turning on!

    Hello!

Yesterday when i started up my computer there were green lines going on the screen and it never got to windows login, so i turnes it of and had other things to do, today when i tried to start it, it didint go on, after a while of trying i decided to change the powersupply to a old one i had, it’s still the green linea over the screen and i can start it, but can’t get to the login screen it just stays black after this, any1 know what problem this is? Thanks!!

    Welcome to PCHF Smett,

What happens if you press the Esc or F2 key/s.

Please provide information about your computer, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better assist you.

This with esc/f2 have always come up for years never been able to fix it, so it doesnt have anything to do with this problem, will post specs soon thanks!

We had no way of knowing that the Esc/F2 message had been coming up for years but not asking what happens if you press those keys would have been negligent on our behalf.

We will look out for your specs.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help any and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.

Not ideal but at least you now know what component has failed.
