Pc doesn’t work

I know nothing about computers and my friend gave me the list of parts and told and I got them and built my computer and when I connect it to the monitor the monitor says I have to connect the cable that you use then it says going into power saving mode as soon as you plug it in and I need help

Does your computer have a graphics card, or only motherboard graphics?

Can you give us complete specs for your computer?
