I have a build list, I am trying to find something similar pre-built

    Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum, but I thought this would be a good place to post this question.

    I have this build list:

    https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PJnWRJ

First off, what do you think? Good for games like Forza Horizon 4 on 1080p, ultra settings?

Second, I am trying to find something prebuilt like it. I have found some similar to it on amazon, but I am not sure of them. For example, this one:

I am just looking for suggestions.

I would like to keep the budget around 1200, including the monitor, but my build is at 1300… so the budget can stretch a little.

    Thanks

    Hello

Your build looks good and the one on Amazon looks good.. Just a note on your build you could go with only 8 g of ram instead of 16 g,8 is plenty..

I will tag another member who knows more about this.. @Evan Omo

Thanks for your reply. Either way I think I will stick with 16GB, even if I do not necessarily need it. It will not effect the cost by much.

        Hello chevyguy317,

        Couple of things in your list of parts that I would change;

The PSU, EVGA are a good brand but when there is a gaming standard add on video card present you should have at least a Gold efficiency rated PSU.

EVGA 120-GP-0750-X1 SuperNOVA 750 G1+ Power Supply $70 after claiming the rebate and has a ten year warranty, I couldn’t find any 650W PSUs for less.

The HDD, I would swap the HDD for the faster 1TB Black version of WD, the Blue is slow and having a 2TB HDD to back up will be time consuming + an awful lot of data to lose should the drive fail WD Black 1TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD1003FZEX alternative to this would be two of the 1TB Blue WD drives here

Avoid systems like this, to keep build costs down they use generic power supplies and single sticks of 8GB RAM, this saves them a few cents per item but in the case of the RAM you need two sticks for the RAM to run in dual channel mode and having only a single 8GB stick means you are only getting 50% of the performance that the RAM is capable of, check the specs at Amazon and you will note that the RAM is only described as DDR4 SDRAM.

Hi chevyguy317. Your newest build on PC Part picker looks good. However you could actually get an AMD RX 580 video card instead of the Nvidia RTX 2060 and still max out those games on Ultra settings and its a bit cheaper.

            Sapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 8GB GDDR5 PCI-E Dual HDMI / DVI-D / Dual DP w/ Backplate (UEFI), 100411NT+8GL

Plus if you go with the RX 580 then you could actually get a better SSD instead of the Crucial one. I would recommend you get the Samsung 860 EVO, Samsung 860 EVO 500GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-76E500B/AM).

No to the Seagate HDD, the green is a budget drive that has a high failure rate.

              You are welcome btw

Agreed with Phill. You should get the 1 TB black performance hard drive that Phill linked in his previous post as the WD black drives are some of the most reliable drives available.

If I go with the WD black drive, the 2 TB one is just as good as the 1 TB, I’m assuming?

It has the same five year warranty, if you are set on having a 2TB HDD the newer version here is the one that you want, it is an OEM/bare drive so you will need a SATA cable for it.

Parts are slowly being ordered, I have the case, wifi card, some fans. Nothing major yet.
