Built a new PC but nothing happens when I try turn it on

I am brand new to the PC building world but have always wanted to build my own gaming PC, luckily I had a friend to help me pick the parts and direct me to put it all together. The PC specifics are;

I have built the PC following all the instructions on videos and the manuals and have been assisted with people who have previously built PC’s, however the PC does not turn on, does not make any sounds and does absolutely nothing. I have tried the basic solutions to ensure I am not being silly but it has not helped. Can anyone help me with this problem?

first up, does the motherboard have an inbuilt speaker or have you added one to the front panel jumper block on the motherboard - if not, that could be a reason for no sound.

next, how confident are you that all the parts are compatible, for example, the memory with the motherboard, and the processor with the motherboard. perhaps the motherboard needs a firmware (BIOS) update.

then, if the motherboard has an inbuilt graphics card, try removing the GTX1060 and seeing if it boots.

lastly, pull it all apart and start again, you may just have had a bad connection somewhere.
