Buying a laptop?

So I’ve been looking to buy a laptop as I start university in September and my shortlist comes to:

I’m leaning towards the lenovo but I can’t seem to find any reviews for this specific model while the MSI is also good as it has the 8th gen I7 but it has less ram so which should I go for?

Is that on the basis it has an I7 8th gen but with 8gb of less ram wouldn’t that affect performance too?

I’m aware of that however I read that the new safe number is 16gb as if you still wanna use the same laptop to play games in 2-3 years 8 gb will no longer be suffice

As vger said, 8gigs is enough now.
In 2-3 years buy some more Ram ,if needed. LOL
