Desktop To tv connection problem

Hi guys. I tried To connect my desktop To my tv but have no succes. I used To have a Ps4 connected To my tv through hdmi cable with no problem at all. My tv is a LG model 32LG5000. My desktop has a gtx 770 graphical card. I have tried To connect it through hdmi, dmi and display cable but the tv still says no signal. If i attach a vga cable it works. I have tried also with a vga-dmi adapter, a dmi-hdmi adapter but didnt help. So clueless..
Any help with be massively appreciated.

I’ve had mixed results when using adapter/converters, stick to a straight through cable (same on both ends) if you can.
if the PC and TV both have HDMI ports, that would be my recommendation.
you may need to try a few different HDMI cables, as I’ve also had hit and miss results with brands and HDMI version differences.
rule of thumb seems to be, the more the HMDI cable costs the better my chances of success were, but I’ve gotten lucky with really cheap ones too - go figure!

and when the cable is connected, are you hitting the Fn key combo that tells Windows to use the external monitor?
sometimes it auto detects and ‘just works’, sometimes you use the Fn combo to force it along, and sometimes a reboot will fix it.

I have used 3 different hdmi cables
Whats that fn combo? Why external monitor? I have no other screen except my tv?

Depending on which version of windows you are running you can cycle through the where to display by using the Windows Key + P

Computer only is the default option–and the name says it all.
Duplicate clones your screen to a connected secondary display, monitor or projector.
Extend expands the desktop so you can make room for extra windows.
Projector only turns off your laptop’s LCD and turns the projector into your monitor.

Ok just so u understand when i have hdmi in tv and pc pluggen in, i only get a no signal screen. So this fn combo is not an option. I have windows 10

scratch my Fn idea, just re-read your first post and see this is a desktop.
the Fn keys are only on laptops.

I’m coming to the end of ideas that have worked for me in the past.
do you know what HDMI versions are supported on the desktop, TV and cable?
any chance the TV has to be put in ‘pc mode’?

Which hdmi version? U mean like mini and so? Well i have the normal ones. There is no pc mode in the tv

I mean the ‘generation’ of HDMI?
it started at at V1.0 and is up to 1.4 now I think (don’t use one every day so not 100%)
I believe they are backward compatible but not forward.
so I was wondering what version the cable is versus the TV versus the PC.
if the TV is 1.3, the PC is 1.4 but the cable 1.1 - that could be part of your issue.

the HDMI version will be in each devices spec sheet.
for the cable it would have been written on the packaging.
