Since Dell stated do the 1600 then do the 1600. They built the system the would know best.

From what I can find for the spec on the system is no more that 16 GB.

I called The Parts People (Dell Experts) and the guy said it takes maximum 16gb of 1600MHz LV DDR3L RAM, so I’m going to be going with the Crucial memory.

I’ve run into an issue. I need to boot from DVD so that I can run the Samsung clone program, but these are my only boot options and I don’t know what they are.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...acfdd6c2f1.jpg

Nick you said you were going to use windows 10, correct? As you said you want to clone the drive it must already be windows 10 installed on the machine? Making google your friend suggests this to configure your boot drive…

I looked at that article but it didn’t mention the odd BIOS that I have. It’s the Aptio BIOS by American Megatrends. One thing I’ve considered is just pulling both drives out of the system and plugging them in via usb to my other system and then using the Samsung clone thing in that system’s OS to clone the disks…

Select Boot # 1 and see what is listed there?

There may be sub categories there.

There isn’t. It’s just those three options. I could use the Samsung program inside of the OS, but I feel like cloning the HDD while Windows is running from it won’t work. Should I connect both drives to another computer and clone it from there?

What happens if you turn off Secure Boot and or put the BIOS to Legacy?

                          For how long?

Remember USB is slower so it may take a while to progress.

At this point I would suggest that you check the HDD for bad sectors.
