I want to upgrade my motherboard and CPU not sure what to get, recently upgraded ram and GPU
I play games like ARK: survival evolved, Arma 3, Overwatch, Fallout 4
I have trouble running some games with even low graphics currently (get around 20 constant frames on medium-low settings for Arma and Ark)

    currently have:
    Gigabyte GA-970A-D3
    Microsoft Windows 10 Home
    AMD FXâ„¢-6300 Six-Core Processor, 3500 Mhz
    24GB RAM(DDR3)
    Nvidia GTX 960
    2 hard drives 1 ssd

    Hello

Hopefully some more of our members will chime in soon. Do you know the speed of your ram?

        Hi zack, Welcome to PCHF!

If you are looking to upgrade your CPU, motherboard and RAM, do you have a preference with getting a new AMD or Intel CPU?

            I would get these parts:

Motherboard: ASRock Z270 Extreme 4 LGA 1151 Intel Z270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Motherboard.

            RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C16D-16GTZ.

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K Kaby Lake Quad-Core 4.2 GHz LGA 1151 91W BX80677I77700K Desktop Processor.

Those parts will work fine but why are you ordering the i5-6600K when that CPU is already one generation behind? Wouldn’t you want to get the i5-7600K instead?
