    4k Samsung smart TV mouse delay

    Hello, I just built a ryzen 5 5600x/RX 7600 PC. I connected PC to Samsung smart TV (4K 3840x2160 60Hz) and I get a lot of mouse delay as if it’s set to low Hz rate but it’s set to 60Hz. I’ve changed 3 different HDMI cables, tried re installing drivers, changed HDMI ports on my TV, changed display resolutions and Hz rates but nothing helped. I had similar PC built (ryzen 5 5600/6600xt) before this one which worked perfectly using same TV and same HDMI cable. Has anyone had same trouble? Could it be that GPU isn’t well optimised for 4k monitors?

      Is the only thing lagging the mouse?
      What is make/model of mouse and how does it connect to the PC?
      Have you tried another mouse, and a normal PC monitor?
      What is make/model of PSU in the PC?

        Yea, mouse has a delay and doesn’t feel like I’m on 60Hz. Also sharpness and color on desktop don’t look like it is at it’s fullest. Mouse and keyboard are cheap 20€ wireless, probably logitech. Haven’t tried another mouse but I did try Dell PC monitor and had no delay on it. I have a feeling that this series of GPU might not be the best quality and not well optimized for 4k monitors because i used to use the same 4k tv and same hdmi cable, never had any issues. I had delay but I switched from 59Hz to 60Hz and that fixed it, but now the tv is already set to 60Hz but don’t feel like it.
        PSU is Aerolux 550w

          The RX7600 card wants a minimum 550watt power supply.
          Do you mean your PSU is a AreoCool LUX 550?
          If so, sites like PSU Tier List rev. 17.0g - Cultists Network list it as “replace immediately”.
          Other sites, Johnny Lucky PSU Lemon List show a lot of their range in the lemon list.
          Is your PSU rated as Bronze or Gold?

          When you upgraded from the RX6600xt to the RX7600, did you use DDU to uninstall the old drivers and then install the new drivers?

          Get your hands on another mouse to test it isn’t just the mouse causing the grief.

            Is that the F tier PSU in the list? Could that be the issue, even though i loaded the GPU with few games to it’s max and didn’t get crashes or shut downs?
            I just tried 2 more mice and its the same delay, so it’s 100% not mouse.

            -That was PC I had to sell and built this one from scratch so I didn’t upgrade but built a new one.

              Based on all things I see about that PSU, it’s a piece of crap - sorry.
              While it may not be causing the current issue (or it may???) it will certainly not be a component you want staying long term in your PC.

              If my rig, I’d be looking at replacing it for any power supply unit certified 80+ Gold (or better) and offering at least a 7 year warranty (preferably 10), and you can’t go wrong.
              For example, ThermalTake ToughPower GF1 or GF3 ranges, Cooler Master, Antec, Corsair RM series.

                Thanks for the advice I’ll consider it. I noticed something today while i was swaping between 4k tv and monitor. I saw tiny little sparkling while I was plugging hdmi cable into the hdmi port on the monitor. Is that a normal thing?

                  Sparkling where, around the port as you plugged in the HDMI cable. or the power cable, or on the screen itself?
                  May have been static charge within yourself, or a power cable shorting out, or the HDMI cable does carry 5v of power - but only .25w so while it can’t power anything, there may have been the slightest of arcs as you disconnect and connect the cable, but I’ve never seen it do that!

                    Around the port yeah, as soon i touched the monitor port with hdmi cable i could see tiny little blue sparks. I think thats enough of red flags for me, I just might return the card and get it over with

                      Was the other end of the HDMI cable connected to the monitor at the same time?
