    Two inputs to one Monitor

Until recently I had dual monitors working fine, a Philips 275B1 and a Dell monitor.

On the Dell I had two inputs, display port connected to the PC and HDMI connected to a security DVR for viewing security cameras. The display defaulted to the display port input, and when I wanted to view the cameras I changed the monitor to show the HDMI input.

The Dell monitor died, so I purchased another Philips 275B1. I have the monitor set up in exactly the same way, but now when the computer goes to sleep the monitor will change to HDMI and display the cameras. I have to physically turn the monitor off.

The same thing happens when I turn the computer off, the default input on the monitor changes back from display port and shows the HDMI camera screen until I physically turn it off.

I’ve tried tech support at Philips to no avail, would anybody have any suggestions?
    TIA.

what options did Phillips tech support offer?
have you plugged the camera recorder into the original Phillips to confirm it’s not just the new screen, but an ‘undesirable feature’ of the brand itself?

that make/model seems to be ‘smart’, with lots of features - have you tried turning off PowerSense, or Adaptive Sync, or any other feature?
    yes, long shot, but hey…
in the screen’s OSD menu, it there anything like setting a default source?

I reckon the screen is simply detecting a signal on the HDMI cable so auto switches to show that input.

does the cam recorder only have HDMI port, no VGA per chance?
sadly, I suspect it may be a design feature of those Phillips screens.
you may have to get a separate monitor for the camera system, or get the phone app and watch them from a mobile device.

what if you use the osd (on screen display) and change the input from auto to dvi (or which ever you want)
        OR
        Try via the phillips software
