I purchased a new Bluetooth 5.3 usb adaptor and was having problems with it. It worked totally fine while logged in, but then I noticed when I shutdown my PC and then turned my PC back on my Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard did not work on the login screen. Because of this I returned the bluetooth adaptor thinking it was defective and purchased another one from a different manufacturer. This time on the log in screen my keyboard is detected but my mouse is not. When i log in and go to bluetooth devices I see that my mouse is not connected. I have tried updating the bluetooth driver, but it says I have the latest version which is a Microsoft Generic bluetooth driver from 2006. I tried looking for an updated Microsoft driver online but it appears that the 2006 driver IS the latest driver. I also tried looking for a driver on the adaptor manufacturers website but there is no driver available for this adaptor becuase it is supposed to be plug n play. I have an older bluetooth 4.0 adaptor and that one works flawlessly. Also I am having a problem with not being able to remove bluetooth devices. Windows is showing 2-3 instances of my mouse and keyboard in bluetooth devices. i have tried removing them via the bluetooth devices screen, also via control panel, and I’ve tried uninstalling the bluetooth adaptor in device manager all which hasn’t worked. At this point I am considering returning this 2nd bluetooth 5.3 adaptor and just using the old 4.0 adaptor instead.

Haha, I checked that article out already. Atleast for me I don’t have any other cards/devices with conflicting BT drivers. My mobo didn’t come with BT either. Once I unplug the BT adaptor I lose all bluetooth options in settings. Are you trying to say that i should contact the manufacturer about getting drivers? Oh also under Optional Updates in Windows Update there is no option for drivers for me, it is blank showing there are no optional updates available. I’m stumped becuase as i said the BT 4.0 adapot works fine. I just wanted to use BT 5.3 because of the extended range and power options that come with BT 5.3Originally posted by veegComment

could be a compatibility issue.
mouse and keyboard not detected with 1st new adapter.
then only mouse not detected with 2nd new adapter.
the Logitech mouse and keyboard, are they bluetooth and wireless connectable?
what is the make/model of the mouse and keyboard?
with the new adapter, once you are into Windows, do they both work?
if so, I wonder if it is a power profile thing, maybe they haven’t ‘loaded’ yet until Windows get to a certain point.Comment

they both use BT and 2.4Ghz adaptor, although the mouse uses the Logitech Bolt instead of a Unifying Receiver which is what the keyboard uses. The mouse is a Logitech MX Master 3S and the keyboard is a Logitech MX Keys Keyboard.
The Keyboard’s model number is 920-009294 and the mouse is 910-006558
Once I’m in Windows the keyboard always works but sometimes i have to reconnect the mouse, but then sometimes it automatically reconnects. In terms of power profile, I think BT 5.3 does include something about using less power or a low power mode although i have no idea where I would access that setting or if it’s even possible. I did just check in Device Manager and this is what it shows for both the mouse and the keyboard. Under power management both are set to “allow this device to wake computer” and I have all my USB ports set to NOT power down.

I have a Logitech G613 keyboard an Logitech M720 mouse.
both can be either bluetooth or wireless.
and can either use a Logitech Unify receiver or Bolt receiver.
I notice when using BT connection, if I leave either device unused for around 5 minutes, it can take Windows a good 3 to 5secs to ‘wake up’ and detect either device. I haven’t even bothered trying to find out why, just accept the delay and it catches up eventually.

if you switch to wireless mode, they work OK?
