MSI Optix seem to not be detected, HDMI port?

Since maybe a year, I’m an owner of a MSI Optix G24 series monitor for a Rog Strix laptop with equipped with an Intel UHD Graphics 630 and a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650. Months ago, I decided to switch from Windows 10 to 11. Without I know what happens, my monitor stopped worked. It’s had red weird things in it and if I mov my laptop, the monitor stop working. I returned to Windows 10 since for some other reasons. Now it’s not detected at all. My monitor tells me it has no signal. I tried to use some else cables (Xbox S Series one and another one) and plug on my TV and it’s not working more. The cable that came with the Optix G24 and the Optix itself work well on my old slow laptop. My HDMI port seems dead. Even W10 does not detect the monitor in Display menu when plugged. I tried to update drivers such as GPUs and others, but nothing works. I also tried to set to “Duplicate” with FN + F9 but no. It’s weird because before that I never used the HDMI port and in the first months the monitor works well. It’s started after I switched to Windows 11 and not solved after I reinstalled W10 clean with a download version because factory settings were stuck at W11.

    Thanks,

How did you update the drivers when you say that you have no display.

If it is only the external screen that does not display anything, try hooking that up to another computer.

Just a fyi, a no signal message normally means that the screen is ok and that the problem is with the source of the video signal.

I used NVidia geforce experience and the file from the website for Intel one. For others I used Driver Easy.
Like stated, i tried by the past to use the cable on another computer and it’s works well

why not to use third party driver programs

Why not to allow windows to update drivers
Page 1 of 2 - Windows 10 Driver Updating. - posted in Windows 10 Discussion: I am rather peed-off by driver updating programs saying a number of my drivers are out-of-date. Of course they are out-of-date - time moves on. There are a number of credible driver updating programs available. My Avast AV has just said that my drivers need updating. A ploy to buy their program and wreck my PC.   Since Windows includes drivers in their updates (it has updated 12 so far on my PC), I see no saf...

Did you have Windows 10 install over Windows 11?

You may need to use Diskpart to wipe the drive then install Windows 10.

Do you have the exact model name or number of the notebook so we can check what drivers are available, you shouldn`t be using the likes of DriverEasy for such a high end product.

You tried a cable not the screen which means that the screen could still be bad.

Do you think wipe totally and reinstalling will really get ride of the issue sir?
The monitor works on my slow low end laptop.
I think I used the download installation progrma from Microsoft then ask Windows to start over and keep files.

              It won`t do any harm as the present installation was done wrong, the below explains how it must be done;
Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers, then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

The ROG Strix G G531GT is the version that has the GTX 1650 the drivers for which can be obtained from here

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed, thanks.

Only if there is a recovery partition on the boot drive.

If you have a recovery partition you do not wipe the disk, that gets done when you use the recovery partition and so you are best not to interfere in the process, once done the notebook should work exactly as it did before, if not, it isn’t a software issue.

Nothing new after done what you said. The weird thing is the cable and monitor seem to works on a slow low end laptop. My Xbox S Series cable do not works as well. Maybe mhy HDMI port is not working anymore? If I touch the cable and move it a bit, the monitor power light gone white for a few seconds then the usual no signal appears. Also Windows seem to not detect it.

Should have been mentioned in your OP as it would have saved us going all around the houses only to find out that we had not been told the full story

OP neglected to tell us that the video port was broken, thread closed.
