Is your monitor connected to a powerboard or direct to a power socket
    What else is running
[HEADING=3]Can you Download and run and then post. Speccy - Free Download
To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:[/HEADING]
[HEADING=3]In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.[/HEADING]
In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

The last part of each URL is randomized, so only people you provide with the URL will be able to find your profile.

The information given in Speccy cannot be used by anyone to hack your system

whenever my graphics driver does an auto-update, the screen goes blank for a second or two.
obviously, your driver shouldn’t be updating that regularly, but I wonder if it ‘thinks’ there has been an update of some sort and is auto-refreshing the screen each time.

otherwise, it would be really good to get your hands on another graphics card - friend, family member, work colleague, neighbour - as that would tell give you your answer straight away!

another monitor would also be helpful.
yes, the Xbox seems to not suffer the same fate.
do you run it using the Xbox as long as you would when the monitor is connected to the PC?
maybe it’s the back light in the screen - again, a quick swap of monitors would eliminate this possibility real quick.

Direct into the wall outlet. My tower is plugged into the same outlet. I tried a different outlet and still experienced the same problem.

Here is my Speccy profile: Speccy
I wonder why it says my RAM is at 1600 mHz when it said 3200 mHz in the BIOS after I changed it from the default of 2133 mHz.

Yes, I’ve ran the Xbox for a longer period with no issues (12 hours).

I guess I could buy another monitor and graphics card and return them to Amazon once I’m done with them, but I’d like to exhaust all possibiities before going through that hassle. Unfortunately looks like I"m running out of things to try.

The screen just blacked out as I was posting this and made an audible pop as it did so.

for testing can you lower the refresh rate down from 144Hz
and if you are running one drive can you also pause sync

Just lowered it to 60 Hz.

Also, I had OneDrive uninstalled when I ran the Speccy test; those folders just didn’t get deleted when I uninstalled it.

Because your ram is running in Dual Channel mode, Speccy reports each stick as half the speed.

‘audible pop’ - how audible, like a bubble popping?
and each time the screen goes blank, you hear that noise?

my money is the monitor is your issue and getting your hands on someone else’s, just for one day, will prove/disprove that!

as to your memory speed, here’s a nice explanation from a magazine I’ve kept that may help.
“Like the ticking of a clock, each tick represents a single hertz or cycle (the opening and closing of a transistor gate in this case).
A speed of 1Hz, for example, is one cycle per second; 2Hz is two per second; a MHz is 1,000,000 cycles per second; you get the picture.
The problem is when DDR (or double data rate) RAM came on the scene, it changed how data transfers were registered. Instead of only actuating once on the rise of each clock cycle, it could now also process an additional operation on the fall of that same clock cycle, effectively doubling the rate at which the DIMM could process data.
The figure for accurate measurement of data transfer requests then shifted from MHz to MT/s to adjust for this change, despite the fact that memory still operated at the same frequency.
However, marketing apparently didn’t get that memo, because many companies, in a bid to tout it as the next big thing, ignored the MT/s figure, instead referring it as MHz, while modern day memory quoted at 2,400MHz, for instance, only operates at half that frequency.”

I used my PC for roughly 8 hours today. No problems with the screen blacking out at 60 Hz.

I wonder if that is my problem. The monitor supports 1440p at 144 Hz according to the specs.

Do you have any issues - games etc at 60Hz?

I don’t, but ideally I’d like to be use it at 144 Hz.

Have you upgraded the GPU firmware?
Not sure if this bit helps
TFT Central confirmed with Nvidia that future G-Sync monitors will support HDMI-VRR and Adaptive Sync over HDMI and DisplayPort. Naturally, a new firmware will be required to bring the two new features to the G-Sync displays, and one for both the G-Sync v1 and v2 hardware modules is already in the works. Basically, this means that AMD graphics card and console owners will be able to use a G-Sync monitor with their setup.

I updated my graphics drivers, but not the firmware.

Is that safe to do? I was reading on AMD’s website that it voids the warranty.

It comes from the gigabyte website
So I can’t see how that can avoid warranty.
                              You can always ask them.
Have you been getting the drivers from gigabyte?

Email gigabyte and ask about warranty.
I have never updated a GPU bios so I cannot advise on any downfalls.
