So my monitor broke and this is an old one I am using instead, “e-yama model 17NE1-S”. I tried using it but it says “no signal input” I have made sure to properly plug in all cables. I want to know if this monitor doesn’t support the cable im using or if its a different problem

Couple of questions for you;
How do you know that it was the original monitor that was broke and not what it was connected to.
A " No Signal " message means that the screen itself is ok and that the problem lays with either the source of the video or the video cable.
Please provide information about your computer, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP, if a brand name, provide the model name or series number (not serial) if a custom build post the brand and model name or number for the CPU, MB, the RAM (including the amount) add on video card if one is used and the PSU (power supply unit) providing these details will enable folk to better assist you. -
+1 with Phil.
or - it may be the old monitor doesn’t auto detect the signal source and is stuck on DVI, whereas you are using VGA.
have you tried pressing the Input Source button (or whatever it is called on that monitor) to change the source of the signal input?
it may even be hidden in the screen OSD (On-Screen Display) menu settings.Comment
