    Lenovo desktop screen flickering

Hope I’ve posted in the correct forum.

Screen is flickering except what it’s like is not off (black) and on but it looks like a black mesh fly screen has been suddenly pulled 5/6ths of the way down the screen. I can still see through the “fly screen” but it’s a bit grainy. It flashes this way at irregular intervals but averaging about once every two seconds. The frequency seems slower for about the first few minutes after switching the computer on. Gets more regular and frequent as time goes on.

Bottom 1/6th of screen is OK but sometimes goes a bit wonky with vertical lines.

I tried updating all drivers with DriverEasy but that didn’t work.

    Any ideas?

    Double check connections.
    Try a different cable.
Try using DDU to cleanly uninstall the graphics card driver & then install from the pc manufacturer’s website or the graphics card website.

It’s an all in one so no cable or connections.

Tried new driver from Intel’s website but no joy.

      Thanks for responding though.

        let’s get some PC specs.

get Speccy from here; Speccy - Download Builds
in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
now you can paste (Ctrl+V) that link into a post.

what is the age of the All-In-One?
any chance it is under warranty still?

and you can remove that DriverEasy crap - those driver update programs walk a very thing line between being borderline malicious to full out virus spreaders. not only has it not helped but potentially it may have stuffed up other drivers.

Did you use DDU to cleanly remove the driver? If not then please try that.

Thanks for your help but a friend who knows far more about these things than I do walked me through some diagnostics and concluded the problem is in the hardware not the software. For example the image on screen casts out to a Chromecast plugged into my TV without any problem.

Anyway, I’m kind of nervous about cleanly removing the driver for my screen because does that not make my screen go blank and then how do I know how to reinstall a new driver?

your screen won’t go blank, it’ll just lose the ability to go to the higher resolutions at worst case.

The driver will switch to the Microsoft basic display driver.

That may be due to the fact that the computer is sending the data to the TV via the network.

I agree with @Bruce which may explain why you may be having the issue.

Page 1 of 2 - Pros and Cons of Driver Booster 2 ? - posted in All Other Applications: What are the Pros & Cons of Driver Booster 2 ?   Is it safe to be used by a somewhat computer illiterate person , if safe at all ?   Is it reliable ?   Is there any known problems to it or but use of it ?   Would you use it ? If not , then why and what is your best alternative ?

Have you attempted what @Bastet asked on using DDU?

You can go to the systems manufacture to get the proper drives.

Were you able to preform the information from post # 4?
