Monitor works, pc works... but together nothing works

This is very weird. I’ve got no signal on my 4k monitor when using a specific 90 degrees bent HDMI cable (needed for monitoring it close to the wall).
But it works fine with another cable, so I’m thinking it’s the cable. But the TV works fine with the bent cable. Must be the monitor with the cable then? I plugged the bent cable to my mac os laptop into the monitor with a great connection. So what am I doing wrong? it is a setting on my windows computer that is wrong?

    Summary from tests:
    Mac+monitor+bent_HDMI = Good
    Windows+monitor+bent_HDMI =/= Bad
    Windows+monitor+random_HDMI =Good
    Windows+tv+bent_HDMI = Good
    mac+tv+bent_HDMI = Good

    All help is appreciated.

Perhaps. It seems to work fine running at 30 Hz but the cable should be rated at 50/60 Hz 4k. Maybe it is just the cable that sucks?

If you can try another monitor and a HDMI cable.

so it’s HDMI out of the PC and HDMI into the monitor?
and any other HDMI cable works, but the 90 degree one doesn’t but it does when plugged into the Mac - have you tried that cable in another Windows PC?
I reckon there is a difference between the other cables you are trying and that bent one.

to get 4K, doesn’t the HDMI cable have to be able to support the bandwidth you are trying to push the the monitor, that is, the refresh rate?
good article describing it here; Do you need a 4K HDMI cable in 2024? Best 4K HDMI Cables | PCWorld

Okay, so the bent one can run my 4k tv at 60 Hz, no trouble. The monitor can be run at 30 Hz max. The setting menu on the pc does give me the option to switch to 50 or 60 Hz but there is no picture.

The monitor can however be run at 60 Hz from another non-bent cable without trouble.

I’m starting to think it’s a mixture between a 4k monitor and a lowkey bad cable but I don’t know what to do

so it’s got to be that bent cable.
any sticker on it stating its specs?

Just “High speed HDMI(R) CABLR WITH ETHERNET”
The website is here “Vinklet HDMI kabel | Av-cables.dk

                It states:
                -4K - 4096 × 2160p resolution in 50/60 Hz video.

I told the seller about the problem (as maybe the cable was damaged), and they sent me a new one with the exact same problems. I think I’m going to try my luck at another bent HDMI manufacturer and maybe spend over 15$ this time.
