Should I replace APC UPS Unit?

I have an APC UPS 750G unit which is now giving me red warnings about the battery. The unit is more than 5 years old. A new APC unit - it’s a different model - is about 2 1/2 times the price of just buying a “replacement battery cartridge” for my unit? Is it better to buy the new unit? It doesn’t have as many outlets as the UPS unit I have. The sales rep kept telling me it’s worth it because of the warranty (3 years). Buying just the battery cartridge is just a one year warranty. I would appreciate any advice.

I should have added above that I’m leaning to just the “battery cartridge” both because of the price difference and the one outlet I’d lose. But I don’t want to try saving money now and then have maybe a problem over time because I didn’t go with the newer unit.

over the years, I’ve gone through 4 UPS units due to dead batteries and I normally get a whole new unit each time the battery goes pear shaped, only because the price difference was minimal.
I aim at the 700VA range, 8 outlets, for about $130 and the first time I needed a battery, they quoted $80 so I’ve always just gotten a whole new UPS unit.
now I have found a generic battery supplier for about $40 but so far haven’t needed to replace the battery yet.

the battery backup portion of the UPS is only an added extra for me, I use them to get the power protection they provide by conditioning the incoming sine wave. so as long as your current unit is still providing that, you’re good to go with simply replacing the battery.

Thank you Bruce. The more I thought about it the more I’m feeling to replace the whole unit. Though more expensive, it’s probably the better way to go.

at the end of the day, you can’t put a price on getting that warm fuzzy feeling.
