Acer S240HL monitor says no Signal but computer can tell it's there

    Hi all,

I’ve turned my PC on today and randomly my second monitor has stopped working. I’ve tried updating the Adaptors and even uninstalling/reinstalling them. I’ve tested a different HDMI cable and still the same thing happens. It’s weird because when I turn the monitor on, a noise, like something has connected sounds, and then the disconnect noise goes off. I can see it was briefly connected within the display settings as the menu mentions “display 2”. It’s also in Display Monitors as Generic Non-pnp Monitor in the device manager.

I’m a bit confused as to what else I can do. I’ve had this Monitor since 2015, so I suspect it may have just died on me but I haven’t had any flickering or stuttering building up to this day, so I also wonder if there’s just a device driver issue? I’ve tried installing the latest ICC profile but don’t know what I’m doing.

Would any be able to help?

Does the monitor work with any other computer.

Have you tried connecting the none working monitor to the video port to which the working monitor is connected.

      Hi There,

For some reason, I managed to fix it by plugging the HDMI that I was using into my main monitor and then plugging it back into my other monitor.

Apologies for wasting your time, really appreciate you getting back to me though!

I would like to conclude this but I’m not sure how to?
