144hz monitor capping at 60hz! Please help!

Hello everyone! So today i just received my AOC 144hz monitot (link: Amazon.com ) and when i plugged it in to my laptop (building a gaming pc soon) via HDMI i immediately went into settings to change the Hz. This was when i found out that it was capped at 60 Hz. Further info about the monitor is that its 2560x1440 resolution. one thin that i noticed was that under the adapters section it shows my graphics car (NVIDIA Quadro M1000M) and underneath a list of modes which would allow me to lower the resolution to get up to 120 Hz but not 144. if anyone has any insight on this issue please help me. Im starting to think that im going to have to return it. Thanks!

p.s. My laptop is an HP ZBook 17 G3

      Hello

It looks like the answer will be you have capped at 120 Hz…I have to agree with the posted answer on cnet forums..

Good to hear…I will mark your thread..

          Info:

And quote: Requires USB-C port which supports “DisplayPort Alternate Mode” (not all USB-C ports/systems support Alternate Mode functionality) or Thunderbolt 3 port.
