    no input signal

I turn the PC Compaq Presario on and everything is fine. It’s an old computer (2007?) I inherited. Then after some time monitor goes blank, except for message “No input signal”; the PC is on, but monitor doesn’t respond to keyboard or mouse. What to do?

Its a hardware fault graphic card, monitor cable unplug the monitor and remake the connection and check there is no dust in the connection

also, if it has an add-on graphics card, remove that and plug the monitor cable into the motherboard back plate.
if that model does not have an in-built video port, remove the add-on card, clean and re-seat.
also check for dust build-up within the PC.

Opened PC, there is not a real card, video function is integrated within motherboard. No dust. Problem persists.

so everything works fine until some minutes later when the screen goes blank?

is the PC still showing power and HDD LED lights blinking and fans spinning when the screen goes blank?

can you get access to another video card and install that to see it it helps?

I don’t have a video card, probably I can buy one but not sure yet where to plug it in when I do get it

give as make/model of the PC or open up case and give us the make/model of the motherboard.
or take a shot of the innards and we’ll go from there.

I installed a video card, and that issue seems to be solved. Thanks for your help.
