I usually let the sales assistant guide me, on the assumption they may have had a play with the models on the shelf.
more than I would have antway.
but really, the question is too subjective - what is your hearing like?, what environment will they be used in?, do you want in-ear or over-ear types?
what one person likes will not necessarily suit someone else.
