hi, this is prob a stupid question, but i have recently brought a cctv system ,it is hdmi but my pc monitors are not ,am i able to use my computers hdmi port and be able to watch it through computer monitors, or will i need to use vga output and put straight into my monitor.
i cant get it to work, i have 2 vga monitors going throught pc 2 different gpus, then im using a hdmi cable from cpu to cctv system but i cant get any options to overwrite vga or switch displays . is this possible?
Hello folks,
If I am correctly understanding what you are asking in that you wish to run the HDMI CCTV to your VGA only screens via a computer then you will need an appropriate HDMI to VGA converter device, a trip to your nearest Maplin outlet should get you sorted, please let us know if I am on the wrong track.
Additionally, a little more hardware info may help;

When you say CPU do you mean the processor or the computers motherboard.
hi thanks for the reply
-i have a hdmi port on computer which i want to use for cctv ,but both my monitors are vga and connected and working ok, but my hdmi port on computer i wanted to connect the cctv box to and for an option to use hdmi or vga on computer so i dont have to keep unplugging monitor from computer to put into cctv, the cctv is also vga connectable but i dont have a spare vga port on my computer,
–the cctv is floureon-cctv system v4.02.r11
Serial number-fe389d2151fbc3ff.
Can`t find a user manual for your CCTV, did you not get one with the system.
I suspect that the problem you are having is because HDMI and VGA signals are not compatible, HDMI is digital only and so there is no Analog signal for the monitor to pick up then display, all is not lost though as you can get what are called Active Display Port adapters that convert the signal, some examples here + some reading for you here

gpu is… nvidea geforce gtx 960 also use intel hd graphics 4600 for other screen.
Unless your motherboard has Intel Hybrid display technology by default the onboard video ports are disabled by default when an add on video card is detected, easiest way of knowing this would be if you have previously had multiple displays connected to the GTX 960 and the video ports on the MB and you had video on each screen attached.
