I have found the problem occurs when I go to full screen on a video

If I stay in smaller screen I can still control the tabs

Can you update to a newer version of android?

That is an old version of android which is no longer supported.

      Clear out some space.

I’m not sure if I can update Android. A brief Google search suggests I would get notifications when a new version is available. I don’t know if there is anything more I can do

When you say β€˜clear out some space’ what does that mean?

        Thanks

            I don’t think I have apps I don’t want

I’m not sure what remove unused data means

β€˜clear the cache’ does that mean go through every app and clear the cache or just within the Chrome app?

              Correct yes
You may also try a reboot
You can also manually update the system

Assuming you mean clear the cache on all the apps I have done that and restarted the machine

Can I manually update the (Android) system? Could I be installing something my device isn’t compatible with? I don’t really understand that and my lack of understanding and knowledge makes me uncomfortable

If the system is capable of handling the new operating system.

                  Go under setting then update.

You can also refer to the manual on how to specifically update. Can also be found on the manufactures web site.

                    Thanks

There is nothing in the system page which suggests I can update

Unfortunately I can’t find anything on Lenovo’s site either

Could be the limitation of the software and or Operating System.

Just to confirm it all that the video is not in full screen and you can see the Tab number in the upper right. You also have no issues closing out other tabs.

This only happens when playing videos through Chrome that recently started.

Are you able to scroll up are down on the screen.

The highest OS is 8.1 so if it’s running that then it may not be compatable with the latest Chrome.
As Firefox works I’d move to that or even try Edge.
I don’t use Android devices so cannot offer any advice re: hardware or software updates.

Yes I can always scroll up and down

Before I go full screen I have normal complete control over all tabs

Once I go to full screen and back, I cannot close or switch any tabs

Although I can open new tabs by selecting β€˜open tab in new window’ but I can’t switch to them

Yes it only happens in Chrome and has begun recently

Actually the highest version is 11.

Other than that I have to agree with @Bastet on using Firefox is about all that can be done.

The device can only take Android 8.1 nothing later. I should’ve been clearer on that.
