According to Wikipedia, the support status for my device says “Limited third-party application support only” what’s that mean for my device?

As a game developer in unity, it asks to choose a the Android version on which the game is to be played… here, if I choose API 28 (Android 8.0) then my game can run on Android 8.0 but that means it will also run on the lower versions like 7 or 6 or 5 but not more than 8.0 ( or below than a choose limit). so, most of the games of today might run on 6.0 too. If not then it must be a demanding game and phones below certain Android version might not be allowed to play because of old processors.
