I was getting the “Unexpected account registration error”. This morning I uninstalled the Hangouts Dialer, then uninstalled Hangouts. I then downloaded each of them from the Play Store and my Dailer is now working properly.
Solved? Perhaps it would be better to leave it open for awhile in the event that others, with a similar Hangouts Dialer “Unexpected account registration error”, would want to address their issues and resolution attempts.
