samsung note 3 crazy battery drain

Hi, I have been having this problem for few months now. I have changed the battery but it is still the same.
Even at idle period, the battery charge is fast enough for 100% to be over within hours. and if I use it, or play some game, it lasts for barely an hour and half.
most of the background processes are turned off and I have already checked by going in safe mode but the battery drain is the same, and even factory reset the mobile.

Model: Samsung note 3 sm 9005

nothing. right now, i have factory reset and have installed only instagram and viber. also, i have recently upgraded my android version to lollipop which was an official update. It was only recently (about a month ago) while the problem of battery draining has lasted for months over half a year now.

Check these two sites for things to try. Apparently this is a widespread issue on the sm n9500.

You could try a battery calibrator…

Yes, if you go to the threads, you will see that this is a known problem.
Is your model sm n9500 rather than what you posted sm 9500?

I did it just now, thanks. I am not sure if it will work or not, am charging mobile to above 90% before I check it.

Also you can shut down the wifi while idle to prevent battery drain.

yeah the battery drain is still there, I don’t know if the battery is the problem now since I did everything listed above. I will try another new battery and see what happens.

Ok,you may want to check your app’s,to see if you can determine what is running constantly .

I checked with gsam battery monitor. It is the same. The wifi on has the fastest drain about 1% + battery drain in a minute. I don’t know about before but after the factory reset, I have only installed few apps like instagram and the useless apps have all been disabled.

It seems the issue is caused by the lollipop update. Some fixes may work. Clear phones cache partition, factory reset (which you have done). Shut any GPS until needed,If using an AV check the AV and it’s use of resources, use Power Saving mode, try to power phone in safe mode to see if you can determine if any app’s are causing the issue, syncing in lollipop seems to be an issue, because it’s trying to sync with a lot of app’s example like email.

EDIT: Also this seems to work , while idle put your phone in airplane mode. BTW in airplane mode your phone is suppose to charge faster.
