Windows Mobile Lumia 550 - internal storage full - how to erase when connected to PC?

    Hi!

I have totally full internal storage of my Windows Mobile Lumia 550 - even when I have all storage set to external microSD card.
I cannot now not to use WhatsApp and still running on Windows 10.1703 - cannot update - full space.

How to get privileges for files created by me? They’re read-only and I can’t change attributes.
It requires privileges - how to force it? I have there more than 2GB music and I’m surprised that is not stored on microSD card.

    Thank you for help.

Why not use the phone to erase the files?

You should also be able to use the phone to move the files to the SD card.

I don’t own a Windows phone and don’t run Windows 10. I also never put songs on the phone.

I connect my android phone to a Win 7 computer. I open Windows Explorer and go through the folders on the phone, usually pictures. I can move the pictures off the phone and onto the computer. From that point on, I can either burn the pictures to a CD (I like to archive some of my shots) or simply erase them.

I suggest you make a music folder on the computer desktop, call it phone music so it doesn’t get mixed up with any music files on the computer. Move the songs from the internal storage on phone to the phone music folder. Next copy the entire phone music folder to the micro sd card used for the phone.

Try playing a song on the phone. If it works, you can then remove the phone music folder and all the songs from the computer - or burn them to a disk so you have a working copy.

Have you tried this, sounds like the best approach.

Yes, I tried to find these files.
Windows Explorer on Desktop see all - but needs privileges to detete
Windows Explorer and Metro Explorer see no one - so how to delete nothing?

Have you tried to remove the files using ONLY your phone as suggested by Rustys, without any computer connection?

Yes, it is alternative, but it’s the same like reinstall Windows - I don’t want again setting all after 2 years personalization.
Really is there no other option?

backup should keep all your setting and data, factory reset, then put backup back…

Ok, please explain me how to backup and give it back.
I’m afraid to loose anything, this is reason why I’m asking.
