Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 Model 1979 | Will Not Turn On Unless I Unhook the Keyboard

I am experiencing the strangest thing with a Microsoft Surface Laptop 5 Model 1979. When I push the built in power button on the palmrest keyboard, the laptop will not power on unless I open up the laptop and disconnect then reconnect the keyboard cable. Then, the laptop will power on just fine. I have to do this for each instance I want to power on the laptop. I am trying to determine if it is a faulty keyboard or a motherboard issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have reset the laptops Windows 11 Operating System, and have performed all updates to ensure that it was not a OS or driver based issue. Thanks again for any direction or help you can provide.

It seems that these laptops have hardware issues. Let me get more help.

Do you have the Surface app (from the MS App Store)?
I needed to use it a while ago to setup some stuff that Windows Settings or Control Panel couldn’t see, so try that for starters.

To my knowledge the Surface Laptops do not have a detachable keyboard like the Surface Pro’s, so what is this β€œdisconnect then reconnect the keyboard cable”?
