Laptop makes weird noises and restarts randomly.

My laptop has been making weird noises for a while. At first it was just a ticking noise that I ignored, but now I started hearing a grinding noise. I don’t know if this is something bad or harmful. Maybe I should just ignore it, but it doesn’t sound good. I attached 2 files with the sounds in a WeTransfer link since I can’t attach mp3 files. Now since yesterday my pc randomly restarts after I launch a game. Maybe these 2 things could be related. Anyhow does anyone have any idea as to what this is and if I should do something about it?

This is the laptop I use:

Being that your notebook has an SSD as opposed to a mechanical HDD + the notebook is restarting I would go as far as to say that I am 99.99% certain that this is a cooling fan problem with failed bearings being the most likely cause.

Your notebook has two cooling fans, one for the CPU and one for the GPU and because the notebook restarts when gaming the GPU fan is the most likely of the two to have been the one that has failed, that said I would replace both while the notebook is open.

Okay, so there is still a warranty on it but it would take weeks to repair. Is it hard to repair? Maybe I could repair it myself or bring it to a shop that is near me that can repair it fast.

Once the parts are to hand it is not a big job but doing it yourself or having a local tech do it will void your warranty.

I think the warranty lasts untill after this summer. I wouldn’t really need it anymore to be honest. I’ll probably ask a local tech to do it for me.

If not confident to do it yourself that is always the best way to go.

If you would like to take a look at the inside yourself, take a look at the video here just taking the back off and having someone power up the notebook for you would allow you to listen closely to see which fan was making the noise.
