    Someone lock out my Toshiba laptop via bios

    So my daughter has been using my Toshiba Sattelite P755-S5215 for a while.. Today she tells me she can not log in, as it some home became passwd protected.. I know it is bio protected, as I have removed the HD and booted and it ask for a passwd.. Now she claims she took it with her one time out of the house to a friends, knowing darn well that was a big NO NO.. Now I have no idea how to reaccess my laptop. I have not taken a laptop apart in years, so I have no idea which way to start.

      Does rule 13 applies here;
      13. We will not assist with recovery of or figuring out of PINs or 2FA codes for any reason.

      I’ll let @veeg or jmarket have the final say on that.

        Yes, BIOS or Operating System’s passwords are there for the purpose related to Security and Privacy to protect the legitimate owner of a machine and because we cannot prove ownership of any members computer we do not offer assistance with such requests.

        While we will not help you with getting around passwords we can advise you as to how you can have this resolved using legitimate means, take the computer to a reputable tech local to you or have them come to you, you will need proof of ownership such as the sales invoice, picture ID such as a driving licence/passport and proof of your address such as a recent utility bill.

        Thread closed as per the above explanation.
