Laptop turns itself off under CPU load

    Afternoon chaps,

So my laptop for the last month or so has been turning itself off intermittantly under stress (loading a game) etc. i thought since iโ€™ve never replaced the charger it could possibly be a power issue, so i bought a new charger adapter for it and didnโ€™t see the issue untill today where itโ€™s started again. i run OCCT benchmark with and without the charger plugged in and both times it just instantly turned off after 10-15 seconds of running.

    Laptop specs are:

System Model: Blade 15 Mid 2019-Base

    System Type: x64-based PC

    Processor: Intel(R) Coreโ„ข i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s) & NVIDA RTX 2060

Installed Physical Memory (RAM): 16.0 GB

    Thanks for your help!

That is typical behaviour of something overheating but can I ask did you replace the charger with a genuine replacement from Razer.

Thanks for the reply. I did re-apply thermal paste to the GPU and CPU after the first time it happened, and it wasnโ€™t hot to touch the laptop after it had turned off.

The charger i bought from a different website to Razor but it looks to be a genuine part. I even run the benchmark without the charger plugged in and it did the same thing.

Iโ€™ve sent the laptop off to a repair shop to see if he can find a solution, will update if he finds anything.

Razer as far as I have always been aware do not sell batteries, you have to send the notebook to them and they fit the appropriate battery.

You are welcome, good luck and yes please do let us know how you get on.

So iโ€™ve recieved a update, unforuntelty he canโ€™t find whatโ€™s causing the problem beacuse itโ€™s intermittant, he ran alot of tests on the Intel i7 Processer and all come back good, he ran the OCCT benchmark for 3 hours and it was doing fine, then tried it again this morning and the issue started again. so at a loss to what is causing it at this point and think just getting a new laptop will be the cheaper option instead of sending it to multiple people to get it looked into as it could be a multitude of things causing it.

Apologies for the delay getting back to you, working seven days a week leaving little to no time for the forum atm

Shame that your update is not better news but thanks for the follow up in any event.
