Stuttering DELL G15 5530

Hello everyone,
Since my purchase I have had a problem with the Dell G15 5530. I have a stuttering problem when I play games, it reduces when I am on battery, you can see it via this video on Youtube:

I tried a lot of solutions, updating the driver and bios, windows 10, changing ssd, changing ram, deactivating Mpo, tpm (even if I didn’t find a tutorial with a bios similar to mine I can’t I’m not sure I succeeded, I may have just deactivated ttp, deleted the DELL services (assistance assistance, alienware…).

I can’t find a solution. Diagnostic tests do not detect anything special. For analysis of GPU, CPU etc. I don’t understand so I couldn’t interpret them, but I don’t see anything abnormal).

Do you have a solution to offer me?

Couple of things there, will go through them as they are list in Speccy;

Windows was recently reinstalled but badly and especially it being a Dell, see my canned info below;
Once Windows has been clean installed you must then install first the MBs chipset drivers then the storage/SATA drivers and third the graphics drivers, the drivers can either come from a disk provided by the motherboard manufacturer[COLOR=rgb(184, 49, 47)] ** or downloaded from their site and saved to a flash drive etc, this is a must and Windows should not be allowed to check for updates before it has been done as more often than not Windows installs the wrong drivers or in the incorrect order and this can cause all sorts of problems.

The chipset is what enables the MB to be able to communicate with all the hardware + are the first drivers that Windows looks for on boot.

[COLOR=rgb(184, 49, 47)]** For OEM computers/notebooks such as Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo etc you must only download drivers from their support page, OEMs may sometimes redirect users to a third party site such as AMD or Nvidea to obtain the latest drivers for their GPUs, this tends to be for high end gaming notebooks and desktops though.

When gaming or watching videos etc the Windows Power Plan must be set to High Performance or the dedicated GPU will not get enough power to be able to work properly or at all, likewise the external power cord must always be supplying the notebook when gaming or again the power demand will be too much and the battery will run out.

Get rid of the power saving times that you have set, get distracted for a couple of minutes only to find that you screen has turned off, most annoying

You have CCleaner installed, can I ask why, quickest way to hose Windows with a single click if you are not careful.

Windows is installed on the same partition as your personal data, bad idea, for why see another canned info below;
Windows should always be installed on either its own drive or on a seperate partition on a larger drive, this reduces the amount of free space that is required to be kept available + it makes creating a regular back a whole lot easier.

Windows will also boot up quicker on its own partition as it does not need to install drivers for any third party programs.

A 256GB SSD or separate partition on a larger capacity drive should be the minimum capacity allowed for.

Regarding your internet etc, you are using a wireless connection and you download torrents, the former means that gaming sucks and the latter puts you at risk of malware infection, use an Ethernet connection when gaming and stop downloading torrents, looking at the amount of memory being used ( 16GB ) you may already have a malware issue, if our steps don`t help you will need to get a check done over on malware, do not start a thread there unless we advise it here though.

Thank you for this information. I will try all these solutions. I didn’t understand what I did wrong when installing Windows.
I booted a USB key and followed the tutorial on the microsoft site, then I switched from Windows 10 to 11, maybe the problem comes from there?

When you say that the drivers must be on a flash drive I understand that they must be installed when installing Windows so in the bios not on the desktop?

For maximum power mode I tried with Alienware Command Center and natively with the battery icon but there is no improvement, when I plug in the problem is really accentuated. My games are automatically launched in high performance mode the problem persists.

I often get a notification telling me that Nvidia cannot change GPU when I open a game, yet the tests run fine on my 4060, the good gpu is use.

I like CCleaner because it quickly uninstalls several programs at the same time, Windows does it one by one and doesn’t detect everything.
The problem does not come from this because it is present on the PC at factory settings with and without installed drivers, on Windows 10 and 11. My opinion is that it has a link with Dell.

It’s a laptop with a 1TB SSD natively, Windows and the files are therefore together.
I have already carried out tests with Malwerbyte. The problem is present natively without torrenting so it doesn’t come from that.

I tried another SSD so I have 2 now, I have never tried to install an SSD. Maybe I can install windows on the fastest one and put my files in the second one? Is there a risk or precautions to take?

The BIOS is pre Windows and so nothing can be installed there.

This could be your saviour as in you can at least start afresh but now with the knowledge as to how to proceed.

Make sure that you disable the present drive as a boot device in the BIOS and use the Dell one time boot option to install Windows, see example info here

How to install explained below;

Print the driver installation list direct from Dell.

Download and save to the flashdrive just the drivers that you need.

Install Windows then immediately disconnect the computer from the internet to stop Windows updating and installing any drivers.

Insert the driver flashdrive into a USB port then follow the list to install the drivers that you need.
