Asus Laptop dont Turn one after spilling Water on Keyboard

    Hello Everyone,

    Im From Germany
    I have a Asus Tuf A15 FA506IV 2020 Model (RTX2060)
I accidently spillee Sparkling Water on my Keyboard. My Laptop was plugged, while i was Clearing the mess the Laptop went Off.
    Since Then IT doesnt start.

I Opened my Laptop the insides Look Clean. Deattached the battery and disambled the Motherboard so only the Keyboard Part ist there.

Since Then im drying the Button Part of my Laptop.
I reassampled IT together after 12 hours and tried to Turn IT on but nothing. Did IT without battery plugged IT in still nothing

So i disambled IT again and since Then ITS drying.

Because IT turned off itself IT Had a short circuit right?
Is my Laptop completly broken even sehen Water didnt touched the Motherboard?

Dont See any Water Damage on the Motherboard.

Can IT BE because of my Keyboard having short circuits my Laptop isnt responding?

Already buying Isopropanol Alc 99,9% and some Unit to Look If Energy ist going through my Laptop, comes with Amazon tonight.

Do you have Tips what to do?
Is there also a Button Combination i should do after a Short circuit? Like Holding the Power Button?

    Regards

    Hello

As you said the laptop was connected to power, with the water spilling on the keyboard.. well not good ,your laptop is probably toast.

      Hello enton123,

Yep we need to be honest with you and it does not sound good.

Remove the battery and RAM from the slot/s.

Either leave the notebook somewhere real warm for at least twenty four hours or alternatively get yourself a big bag of dry white rice, lay it out in a dish that is big enough to spread the rice wide enough for the motherboard ( MB ) to be buried in, place the MB in the rice CPU face down, leave it there for at least twenty four hours so as to allow the rice to draw out any moisture that may be in the board and/or components, keep the battery the same if you can, the RAM just clean with the 99,9% Isopropanol alcohol.

But does IT really cause the Motherboard Being Dead?

The Motherboard doesnt seem to caught Water

Can IT BE that the Keyboard makes the short circuits now and thats why IT doesnt Work?

Dont See Spill to the Motherboard itself.

Is IT already enough when the Keyboard gets a Short circuit?

Ok thru out any laptop/pc they are openings inside the case either from the top.. via keyboard ,ports etc.. Any liquid will find a way to penetrate these openings.. Electronics and water/liquid/water vapor do not mix..

Water is a conductor and as soon as it comes into contact with a live soldered circuit, wire or an electrical circuit the whole thing gets shorted.

Water is clear so leaves little to no proof that it has been there, flavoured water when it dries will leave some sort of mark behind due to the sugar or saccharin contents of the drink.

Just a fwi, you post here asking for help and all that we have done is confirm what you already suspect.

Can i Check If the Motherboard is Toast with a ohmmeter? Wanted to Check the Motherboard First and Then Connect Laptop Keyboard and Check If i get a signal

Do you good Tips for this.

Never did that Is IT Dangerous to Check IT? Meaning of i could do a Short circuit on my own with the Multimeter/Ohmmeter

Yes you can check the laptop with a multi meter just make sure the power is off and unplugged and then press the power button for 30 seconds for any residual power to drain..
