Hello. yesterday i opened my laptop for the second time, and i discovered a sizable black patch, which is making my screen glitch. Earlier i used my laptop and it didnβt have it, and i dont recall dropping it, or causing any harm to it. The screen isnt cracked anywhere, the outer shell isnt damaged either. And the laptop works fine besides all the glitching. Is this fixeable?

Apparently since this is a new laptop strongly suggest that you contact the manufacture and let them know. This way if there is something wrong they can replace and or fix it under the warranty.Originally posted by bulbaurrrrr
Does this happen if it is connected to an external monitor?
If you move the screen up or down does the black patch change in any way?
Does this happen in safe mode?
Is there another user account on the system if so, does the same happen with that account?
Does the black patch stay on the same place and or move depending on what is happening on the system?
Could be a sign that the display is going out and or the cord that connect form the display card to the screen is bad. -
it is an HP Pavilion Aero Laptop 13-be1xxxx. no it is not connected to anything external. the patch is static, no changed occur at all, and no there are no other user accounts on this system. heres a photo of the patchOriginally posted by RustysComment

welcome to the forums.
despite you being unaware how, that is classic LCD screen damage caused by an impact.
Iβm guessing somehow a blunt object has hit that corner of the screen, maybe as the lid was closed.
could also happen if stress/pressure was applied while opening the lid, one hand is on the base to keep it down and the other hand is in the corner of the lid, prying it open.
has the laptop been used by anyone else, or a child?Comment

You screen is cracked looks like something hit it.
I have outlined where the image shows the cracks.

You will need to contact the manufacture to see if that is coverage under the warranty. If it is not, then you will probably be paying out of pocket to replace the screen.Comment
